Minister Ginger Cornwell is a servant on assignment by her Master. She is a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, but more importantly she is a child of the most high God. She is the founder of JumpStart The World Ministries; a ministry of encouragement and deliverance, a ministry designed to help you help yourself.
Ginger is a saxophonist, vocalist, speaker, recording artist, writer, producer and music teacher. She sang with The Voices of Ebenezer AME Church under the direction of the late Rev. Dr. Donald Vails and Byron Cage. She also sang with The Inspirational Sounds of Joy of Gethsemane United Methodist Church under the direction of Evangelist Jacqueline Stevens. She has played alto saxophone with Meridian Hill Baptist Church, and Greater Saint John Church bands and the Ebenezer AME Symphony Orchestra. She is currently saxophonist at Good Success Church, where Pastor William H. Bennett is her father in ministry.
She has ministered as a saxophonist, vocal soloist and speaker at numerous venues. She has participated in pastor’s anniversaries, women’s retreats, funerals, weddings, conferences, concerts. Some of her engagements have included, Duke Ellington Theater, The Kennedy Center, The Rayburn Building for the delegation of the Camaroon, Front Royal, Virginia Gospelfests, Praise Temple, Gateway Cathedral of Praise Anniversary, Full Gospel Conference, Baltimore, Maryland, Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship of Washington, D.C., Give Me Heaven’s Mate, Adelis Restaurant, the Prince Georges County Branch of the Gospel Music Workshop of America, just to name a few.
She has appeared on We the Friends TV telecast, and Conversations and More, as well as A Time for Worship and Praise telecast in Queens New York. She is author of the series “Tone It Up”. She also has a spoken word ministry “she said, He said”, through which she has recorded numerous CDs. She is the founder of “From Pieces to Peace”, a women’s ministry. In addition, because she is a Lupus survivor she has created "SUPUL - Reverse Lupus", a program designed to assist Lupus patients. Ginger also is a former WYCB radio talk show host, and is in the developmental stages of cohosting the telecast “And This Too Shall Pass. . .
Minister Ginger has done community service for the residents of Sibley Plaza, Sibley Hospital Rehabilitation Center, the Meritt School, Apple Grove Elementary School, Middleton Valley Elementary School and for the Prince Georges County Goverment. She is affiliated with Sisters Keepers (an organization, under the leadership of Sister Diane Wilson, developed to encourage and uplift women), and Women Obtaining Wisdom (a monthly book club, under the leadership of Minister Marcia Whitby, that teaches biblical principles) and BEMA Outreach Ministries.
Minister Ginger believes that music is a gift from God and that through that gift people can be inspired and uplifted to higher heights. She believes that some-times individuals just need a little push or JumpStart to get them going. She also believes that music is therapeutic, has healing power, and assists in the development of more rounded and grounded individuals.
Her goal is, through the ministry of music, and with the word of God, to teach everyone she can that they already have everything they need to fix life's situations and circumstances, and that they can ac-complish anything they want to. She simply wants to help JumpStart the World.
